One who milks

One Who Milks

In an explanation of the word dohana, ‘one who milks’, my dear Sanskrit teacher explained it like this:

If we take something, it should not harm either side (neither the one who gives, nor the one who recieves).

Like a bee to a flower: it doesn’t damage the flower and it takes only a little, not the whole, and then goes on to other flowers.

Whatever we take from nature should be in this way.
